Nicky's Football Game

Marcus spent the night at Mammy's and Papa's last Tuesday, I picked him up from them on Wednesday after work at Uncle Nicky's football game. Marcus had so much fun watching him play. He kept saying "Go..Go..Go..Nicky". Nicky is doing really good, scoring touchdowns and kicking off.

Fall Leaves

We took the jeep up one of the canyon's by our house over the weekend and looked at the fall leaves. It's amazing the colors that nature makes. Most of my pictures don't due justice, but i finally found a setting that almost gets the colors right. It was nice spending time together as a family.

Gardner Village

Marcus & I went to Gardner Village over the weekend. Marcus ran from pumpkin to pumpkin, he had to touch each one. While we were there, he rode a pony named C.J. and played with the goats, sheep, pigs, and cows. It was a pretty day and it was nice to be outside.

Zoo

Marcus and I went to the Zoo a couple of weeks ago. Marcus had a blast. They just released the baby elephant for the public to view. It was so cute. Marcus was excited, everywhere we turned there was babies. We saw the baby elephant, giraffe, snow leopard, 3 baby tigers, and baby monkey. I'm going to have to take him there more often, we had a lot of fun.

It was a sad day. This was the last time we went swimming. I think that they closed the pool to early, but we had fun anyway.

Marcus's 2nd Birthday

We had Marcus's 2nd Birthday party at Aunt Allie's pool. She was so nice to let us do it there. We had so much fun on the 24th of July, we wanted to do it again for his birthday. He had a lot of fun. It was nice to see both of our families together and see how much they love Marcus. We are so thankful that he is in our lives and the joy that he brings to Jesse and I.

Owlz Game

My Dad got to throw out the opening pitch for the Midway Printing night at the Owlz game. I think that he was nervous, but he did a good job, he made it to the plate and the catcher didn't have to reach for it.

Starvation

My parents took their boat up to Starvation Reservoir. We went up and stayed with them one night, and then went out on the lake with them the next morning. It was gorgeous. The water was perfect. Nick was even able to get up on the wakeboard for the first time.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon. It was the first time that Marcus was able to go on rides. I'm not sure if he liked it or not, but he did have fun playing in the water and chasing his uncles around.

24th of July

On the 24th of July, Aunt Allie had a pool party at her house. It was a lot of fun, we are so thankful that she let's us come over and swim so much. Marcus loves it. After we were done swimming we went up to Heber and went on the lake to watch the fireworks. My Mom and Dad hooked their boat to ours and we had a BBQ.

We went to Heber over the weekend to visit Papa Bob (Meghan's grandfather). He is visiting from California. It was really nice to see him. We've missed him. Marcus entertained us. He put on the helmet all by himself!

Annual Knight Family Camp-out

This past weekend we had Jesse's family camp-out. It was up Fairview canyon. It was beautiful up there. Marcus had so much fun playing with all the cousins. He was glad that his Aunt Allie, Aunt Christine and Cousin Jessa were there to play with as well. He didn't want anything to do with Jesse or I; he was having too much fun with everyone else. We wished we could have stayed up there longer...

Rain Storm

We had a huge rain storm today. Marcus and I were out doing errands; on our way home we realized that there was a pool at the end of our street. The water was really deep. The neighbor kids were swimming in it. Jesse of course had to get the jeep out and play.

Aunt Allie was nice enough to take yesterday off to watch Marcus while Jesse and I were at work. He got so spoiled. Marcus loves his Aunt Allie. He never cries when we leave like he does anywhere else. They had fun playing outside all day. He played T-ball and was surprisingly good at it. When I got off work I went over and we went swimming, and then when Jesse got off work he came over to watch.

On Friday, Jesse was working in the front yard. He was building another hand rail for our front porch, so that we can refinance the house. Marcus and I were out front watching Jesse. Marcus found Jesse hockey helmet, and wore it around for quite a while. It was so cute I had to go and get the camera.

Jesse started school about a month ago. So we've been really busy. Jesse is going to school in the evenings after work and on Saturday mornings. We don't get a lot of time together, but we are make the best out of the time we have. Since Jesse has been going to school, we both have to work on Wednesday mornings so for the past month Mammy or Papa has been coming down Tuesday night's and picking Marcus up to spend the night, and I went up Wednesday's after work and picked him up. He has had a lot of fun and learned new things. We are so grateful for them to watch him. It has lifted a big burden off our shoulders. (I think Mammy and Papa liked it too.) Moab Sunburn

We had so much fun in Moab. Marcus had a blast. He loved being able to run around and get dirty. On one of the days we were down there, Marcus and Auntie Allie went on a hike. I forgot to put sunscreen on him (I know, I know...I work for a dermatologist, I should know better), and I didn't leave any for Auntie Allie to put on him, so his little face got burnt. She feels really bad about it, and she shouldn't! It was my fault. I took these pictures yesterday...It looks a lot better, his eyes aren't as swollen as they were. He's a trooper, it hasn't even phased him.

Easter

We went up last Thursday to Heber to visit Mammy and Papa. The "Easter Bunny" hide some eggs for Marcus it find. Good thing that they were plastic because he thought that they were balls. He kept throwing the eggs and kicking them. It was really cute. Mammy bought Meghan 4 dozen eggs to color. Marcus kept trying to eat the colored eggs, shells and all. Meghan took a lot of good pictures, but when she went to download them, Marcus tried to help her and broke the memory card and card reader. When she fixed them, the card reformatted that lost all the pictures. She was not happy...
On Easter, we went to Auntie Allie's for dinner. Marcus had soo much fun playing ball with Aunt Christine and Cousin Max. Aunt Christine bought him a cool sticker book. Marcus isn't quite patience enough for it yet.
It was a really good Easter, we just don't have the pictures prove it...

These are picture's I took a couple of weeks ago of Marcus playing in the front yard.

It's be a long time since I've blogged, so here is an update. Two weeks ago Marcus had his 18 month apt. He's 25.6 lbs, and 33 inches tall. He's a big boy. For Valentines day Jesse gave me a gift certificate for a couple's massage. We went last week and had it done. Jesse didn't like it, but he was a good sport for me. On Saturday, Marcus and I went and watched Uncle Nick wrestle at Jordan High School. Marcus had fun running around on the mats. Later that night Jesse and I took Marcus to the instacare, he had a temp and just wasn't acting normal. He has an ear infection and had a really bad cold. He's feeling much better now. Last night he was making up for lost time being sick.

Marcus and Uncle "Doggy"

Jesse, Marcus and I went up to Heber last Thursday. We went up to see Jesse's Aunt Karen. She is very sick. We also went to Papa, Mammy and Uncle "Doggy's" work. Marcus got to play on the forklift. Mammy watched Marcus while Jesse and I went up to the gun range. Jesse was upset that I did better than him. We also went and hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Bates. Jesse and I went to the Jazz game that night. Auntie Allie was AWESOME and watched Marcus for us. We felt really bad, because it was a late game (we got to her house at 11:30 after the game) and Marcus didn't sleep for her.

New Hair Cut

I went and got Marcus's hair cut over the weekend. Daddy was having a hard time with his long hair. He was a really good boy and sat very still. He has a little attitude now...He thinks he's cool!

Jess and I went and played roller hockey last night. Auntie Allie watched Marcus for us. We had a lot of fun. I think that Jesse ended up scoring 3 goals and I just tried to stay out of the way. We are up in Heber now...visiting the family. We got to go to lunch with Nonnie, Uncle Greg, Brandon, Papa and Mammy. Unfortunately Grandma Bates has the stomach flu, so Marcus isn't able to go and play with her. Jesse went up to the shooting range and shot his gun. I was going to go up with him to shoot mine, but I had to stay and watch Marcus.

The nosies that little boy's are born with amazes me. I don't understand how they are born with car nosies. Marcus was playing with his cars yesterday and he had all sorts of car nosies. I know that I didn't teach them to him (cause I can NOT make car nosies) and I'm pretty sure that Jesse didn't teach him, but he sure has them. It's pretty cute!

Roller Hockey

A couple of guys at Jesse works told him about a drop-in hockey league that plays on Wednesday nights. Last Wednesday was the first time he went and played, Marcus and I went to watch and make sure that he didn't hurt himself. Jesse had a lot of fun. Marcus was mad that he wasn't able to go out and play with Dad. Marcus had a blast when Jesse took him out skating.

Basketball

We got Marcus a basketball hoop that goes in the tub for Christmas. We put it up in the shower downstairs. He has now learned how to open the shower door by himself. I caught him the other morning in there playing basketball. He has a lot of fun with it.

Jesse and I gave Marcus some crayons and paper for Christmas. I gave them to him a couple of days ago so he could color. I was cleaning the bathroom while he was coloring. He only colored for a couple of minutes and then he was done and off to play with something else, but when I went into the laundry room I noticed the lovely picture that he drew for me when I wasn't paying attention.

On Saturday, Marcus and I meet Mammy, Uncle's Tony & Nick at the University Mall. Mammy had to have Marcus sit on Santa's lap. I think that she was disappointed that I didn't have to sit on Santa's lap as well, like she had to with her kids. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent the night up in Heber Wednesday night. Thursday morning I helped my mom make pies (she did most of the work though). Jesse's sister from Colorado was up with her family so Jesse spent most of the day with them while I helped my mom. We went to Jesse's family for a little while and had some food, then we went to Nonnie's and had dinner. She did a wonder job, I hope that someday I can cook as good as her. It was really fun to get the family together...we missed Brandon, Brittany and Dylan though.

Our friends, Clay and Tara had a couples baby shower (it was Halloween themed) on Thursday. Jesse and I didn't dress up, but we put Marcus in his costume. The party was at Clay's parents house. They have a really nice water fall in their back yard, so we put Marcus on the rocks and took a couple of pictures. It was really dark so they didn't turn out as good as we hoped.

It's Sooooo Heavy!

Marcus, Mammy, Nonnie, Aunt Gail, Uncle Tony, Uncle Nick and I went Gardner Village today. We wanted to see all the Witches. That was the first time that Marcus had been there. He had a lot of fun with all the pumpkins. He kept trying to pick them all up. I think our favorite thing was the pumpkin chocolate chip fudge.

Yesterday was mine and Jesse's anniversary. We've been married 6 years....WOW! Sometimes I can't believe that it's been that long and sometimes if feels like "It's only been 6 years?!" But one thing is for sure...I love him very much ("Forever & Ever...Always & Always") and would marry him all over again.

Marcus went up to Heber to spend the night last night with Mammy and Papa, so Jesse and I could have a night together...Marcus hadn't seen his Mammy and Papa for a while (a whole month!!) so they were excited. Marcus wasn't feeling well and had a hard time falling asleep, but he had a great time...he got very spoiled. Today is Mammy's birthday. So she got to have her little man all day with her on her birthday...she was happy.

At Jesse's work there has been a plane that "Doesn't Exist". It's some kind of Military plane that the owners don't want a lot of people to see. Jesse is one of the only people privileged to deal with it. It leaves for a flight everyday around 2 and comes back around midnight. Which means Jesse doesn't get home till 1 am. Marcus and I decided to stay up one night for him...I made it, but Marcus didn't. He feel asleep around 12:30....

Aunt Pamela and Uncle Jon asked us over for dinner. We had a lot of fun. It was the first time that Meghan had seen Gram and a long time since she'd seen Avy. Marcus wasn't to sure what to think...He doesn't play with other kids very much. He did very good, he couldn't keep his eye's off them...and thanks to Gram he started walking. We loved to visit with everyone and hope that we can do it again soon. It had been too long.

California - Angels Game

Great Papa bought us tickets to an Angel's Game. Meghan was really excited, she'd never been to a Major League baseball game before. The Angel's minor league team is the Bee's (our home town baseball team) so we've seen some of the players play in Salt Lake. We had dinner before we went to the game...We went to In & Out. Jesse was really mad that we didn't get to come. When we got to the game...Great Papa bought Marcus a rally monkey...he loves it! The Angel's lost in the 12th inning...We blame Mammy...

California - Lunch with Nana

Marcus and I went to California on Aug. 13th. We flew on Jetblue. It was Marcus's first time on a plane. He was very very good. He watched the Animal Planet...even with no sound. (He wouldn't let me put my ear phones in his ears) Grammy and Papa were also on the plane with us, but they didn't have seats next to us. We all went out to drive Nonnie home from her visit to California. Our first stop was lunch with Nana (Meghan's Dad's Mom), We ate at Mimi's. Marcus had the waitress's wraped around his little fingers. It was really nice to see Nana...She'd never seen Marcus before...as you can tell they didn't like each other at all.... ;)

Heber Fair Day's Parade

It's fair day's in Heber, so we went up to the Parade. This was Marcus's first Parade. The sirens didn't even bother him. He loved the horse's. I'm afraid he's going to be like his mom and want a pony. Good thing we live in the city and horse's aren't allowed!

Grandma Bates and Aunt Allie went garage sale shopping and found Marcus a bunch of new toys. He stinks so bad, cause he's spoiled rotten! They found him a car that he can sit and ride or he can push it from behind. He like to walk behind it...it's faster that way. You have to watch out when he gets going or he'll take you out. They also got him a horse. That's his favorite. He had so much fun on it.

I babysat a little girl today. She is (stay with me here) Jesse's old misson companion's baby...they also live in our ward. Small world I know. Marcus was having a little bit of a jealousy problem. He didn't like sharing his mom. They crashed out on the couch...my favorite type of babysitting....

We went over to Aunt Allie's tonight. Our house was really hot and we need to cool off. Marcus tasted the water to make sure that it was okay when we got in. He had a lot of fun till a couple of bigger kids came and splashed him. We decided that it was time to get out, we didn't want Marcus to start a fight! :)

We took the boat out tonight. We went out to watch the fireworks that they set off in Charlston. We also took out the AquaQ (the full size barbecue we've mounted on the side of the boat.) Our friends the Noonans and the Browns also came out. We had a lot of fun...the kids were even good. Meghan needs to work on her firework pictures though...here are a few, but they don't give the fireworks justice.

We took Jesse's family out on the lake tonight. We bought some water ski's today and had to go and try them out. Jesse thinks that he got taken on the ski's because it took him 4 times to get up, but he finally did it.

We went out on the Lake again, We found some ski's so that Papa could get out behind the boat. We were all surprised when Jesse tried. He hadn't been on ski's for at least eight years. Everyone had a good time and is already planning for next time.

The Annual Carlile & LeOra Family Campout

It was time again for the Annual family Campout. The campground we stayed at was in Idaho. This was Marcus's first camping trip. We were only able to stay for one night. That probably was good enough for the first camping trip :) We had a lot of fun catching up with the family. All in all we had a great time. We can't wait for next year!
